State Franchise for Cable Television Service

The General Assembly enacted an Act to promote consumer choice in video service providers and to establish uniform taxes for video programming services in Session Law 2006-151 with an effective date of January 1, 2007.

The Secretary of State’s Office is authorized to accept franchise filings and examine them for compliance under Article 2 of Chapter 55D of the General Statutes.
